Bada-Bing!

Life's a bowl of cherries… I shot this in my dining room for a food cover I was designing. It was the first time I got to play with my new Lensbaby – a lens that has a bellows which allows you to selectively manipulate the depth of field of an image in camera (that's the blur effect you see on the left-hand side). My passion for cooking is rivaled only by my passion for food photography... cooking for the shot I have in my head, prop shopping, shooting myself or styling for another equally enthusiastic photographer and a deep appreciation of other food shooter's and stylist's work who embrace their jobs as an art form.

FEEL LIKE DROOLING?…Check out some of these:
Matt Bites
William Smith Food Styling
Nikas Culinaria
Rice and Noodles

I'll periodically post a few links to photographer's or stylists that I find mouth-watering.

Stay tuned.

YOUR TURN: Where, or in what, do you find inspiration?

  1. I'm constantly looking online, perusing bookstores looking at magazines to see latest trends and listening to my gut for items to blog about. The most unphotogenic food though in my opinion is meat. I've seen beautiful photographs but I can't seem to make it look good in my photos.

  2. Wow, thanks for putting me in that list :-) What you see at http://nikaboyce.com is a subset (tiny one) of what you will see at http://nikas-culinaria.com .

Just wanted to say that I am also a Taurus and 41! Glad to have had a chance to see your blog.
